stripMarkdown

public static String stripMarkdown(@Nullable
 String markdown)

Strips emphasis and backslash escapes from markdown, leaving plain text.

Emphasis follows the CommonMark delimiter run rules. Delimiters that do not pair stay in the output as literal text, so malformed markdown degrades instead of failing. Code spans are kept verbatim.

Parameters:

markdown - The markdown input.

Returns:

The plain text output.
